How do I get started with selling my song lyrics or colaborating with a producer to shop my songs?

February 27, 2010 - 10:14 am 1 Comment

I am a writer (poetry, song lyrics, novels) Im also sing but am interested in shopping and selling the songs that I have written. They have no music with them, though they have a melody and just need excellent production efforts. Is there a place to sell just lyrics or do they need music with them? Just need help getting started. I need honest and trustworthy answers.

First thing you do is mail the lyrics to yourself. When you recieve them in the mail, don’t open the envelope, that way they’re copywritten. Then you simply mail off your best lyrics to various artist and Record lables and hope for the best! Good Luck!

Shanghai Street’s style is the style of old Hong Kong………

Shanghai Street is one of the longest streets in Kowloon and it has been developed for over one hundred years…

Being a hub for gold, traditional wedding clothes and ancestral offerings, the street has also carved a niche for itself as Hong Kong’s kitchen supply district, with a busy strip of shops selling everything from professional-grade kitchenwares in recent years…

Now, please enjoy the video and shop with me…

Are there any high street shop still selling laptops with XP?

February 25, 2010 - 9:22 am 5 Comments

Are there any high street shop still selling laptops with XP or any online stores.

My mother uses her laptop for msn and yahoo messanger, nothing else and windows Vista is to much for her and a few million others, thanks

The high street shops will more than likely all be selling Vista laptops now. Some laptops are now shipping with XP and Vista so you can choose which operating system you want.

Try looking at whichlaptop.co.uk, I recently saw an advertisement in my local paper and this company were advertising dual boot (xp or vista) laptops.

what do you think about parents and shop selling alcohol to young teenagers?

February 21, 2010 - 10:33 am 2 Comments

why do so many young people drink? are parents setting a bad example for teens and encouraging them to drink? do shop owners just want to make money?

im doing a media comment for english, my thesis is – the media falsely represents the relationship between alchol and teenagers. im interested in what you think
i live in australia

First of all, it;s illegal to sell to minors and where I am, a parent can’t furnish it. Why? Because they are children and still growing. Alcohol does many things to a persons body and drinking at a young age promotes alcohol abuse. The liability in selling to a minor can be huge. It does happen, but the laws are for a reason.

what is the best ecommerce / shopping cart solution for a small startup shop selling designer apparell?

February 19, 2010 - 1:16 pm 4 Comments

we are considering volusion, oscommerce, yahoostores, prostores, magento. We want flexibility especially with the ability to make design changes + strong features and easy to manage u/i and backend.

Go with a store that you have complete control over – one that you can install on YOUR domain name, on YOUR hosting.

Of your list, Magento and osCommerce fit the bill. You cannot get more flexible than "open source" (meaning you can change up the code to suit your needs).

Design wise, you are limited only by your skills and imagination. Here are some nice osCommerce sites which might give you a bit of inspiration;

http://www.clubosc.com/hot100/

As you are a startup, you will proabby be wanting to keep costs low – so why not install osCommerce, have a play with it. Sure, it looks awful when first installed, but it’s pretty simple to find a template or give it a design of your own (there are a couple of template systems available).

Also, don’t forget that os osCommerce has been going for so long, there are literally thousands of "add ons" available – the same cannot be said of Magento (yet!).

My blog is at http://www.clubosc.com should you want to read a bit more about osCommerce or ask any in-depth questions, and I have a tutorial site at http://www.oscbooks.com
